Jean Hamiot became a Senior Adviser of MK Technology in July 2009. With more than 30 years experience as senior manager in the French administration, he has a wide high-level experience in industrial strategy and international transactions.

A retired senior General in the French Army's Armament Corps, he is the chairman of HAMIOT consulting, a French consultancy on export controls of military equipments and dual-use products.

Serving as Deputy Director for Strategic Affairs (DAS) at the Ministry of Defence, he was in charge of export controls of military equipment and sensitive technology. He proposed a wide reform of French export controls to simplify the industrial compliance programs, and he implemented a new cooperation with U.S. Defense Department's Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA).

From 2003 to 2005 as Director of the “Centre des Hautes Etudes de l’Armement” (the highest level College of the Armament Community) he implemented a reform to develop the European and International position of the College.

From 1995 to 1999 he was in charge of the impact on the French defense industry of the “Livre blanc” (White Paper) on Defense (1994), and he was a member of the board of GIAT industries and DCN International.

During several years he participated as member of the Delegation for General Studies (DEG) and Directory for Strategic Affairs (DAS), conducting geopolitical studies concerning the future of the nuclear deterrent, NATO and EU transformations, the technological rise of China, the consequences of the fall of the Soviet Union, and the Iraqi crises of 1990 and 2002.

He previously worked as Deputy and Program Manager, and as Adviser of the Emirati Government, to its acquisition program of a new battle tank.

Married with a daughter, he is a graduate of École Polytechnique (X70) and École Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA). He also is a graduate of École de Guerre (101st promotion) and of CHEAR (28th session). He is an “Officier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur” and an “Commandeur de l’Ordre National du Mérite”.
